Charles was born and raised in New York City and later studied Broadcasting and Film, Computer Science and Business in Boston. Charles worked with his Father on Wall Street after starting an AV/IT support company during the Internet wave working for Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Larry Ellison of Oracle Corporation and Bill Joy of Sun Microsystems.
Moving to Australia in 2005, Charles first worked as BDM for one of the first firms in Australia to develop software for carbon accounting. He consults to large corporates around energy efficiency, generation, storage and carbon.
Charles is a silo buster who has invested in several energy/environmental companies and worked for Climate Friendly, Greenstreets Consulting and Thermoshield Australia. He is on the Stewards Council of Living Legacy Forests.
Charles is Deputy Chair of the Australian Institute of Energy Melbourne Branch and a Director on the National Board. He mentors at EnergyLab, Energy Australia Startup Bootcamp and the MedTech Actuator. He is a member of the Energy Efficiency Council, Smart Energy Council and Facility Management Association and a judge for The Banksia Foundation Sustainability Awards for the last three years. Charles was on the Technical Committee for the Engineers Australia National Electrical Energy Conference 2017 (EECON 2017) the theme of which was: Collaboration & Innovation: “Adapting Today’s Grid for Tomorrow’s Future.”
