Richard McIndoe
Executive Chairman, Edge Electrons
Richard is a recognised leader in the Asia-Pacific energy region. Richard was CEO of Energy Australia from 2006 to 2014 over which time he grew the business into one of the top 3 national energy companies with AUD $9 billion in coal, gas, wind and solar generation, storage and pipeline assets and 2.8 million residential electricity and gas customers.
Prior to his role at Energy Australia, Richard was Managing Director of CLP Power Asia from 2002 to 2007.
Richard is currently Executive Chairman of Edge Electrons, an established energy technology company which develops, manufactures and commercializes energy saving and data monitoring technology for electricity networks, retailers and end customers. The business is based in Melbourne and Manila and has a strategic shareholding from Flex, one of the leading global OEM manufacturers.
Richard has held numerous industry national and state-based leadership and advocacy roles. He was Chairman of the Clean Energy Council, Australia’s leading renewables industry body, and Chairman of the Energy Supply Association of Australia. He also led the electricity industry advocacy on carbon policy with successive Federal governments.
Richard has an MBA from INSEAD and a Master of Arts degree in Modern History from Cambridge University.
